October 8, 2020 – Two meetings today, first the International Service Committee where we reviewed it’s program for the year to date.
Our guest speaker was Nasema Zeerak a Rotary Peace Scholar from Afghanistan attending a program in Conflict Resolution at USD.
I announced Pacific Beach Rotaract and Zone 26/27 are sponsoring a Virtual Polio Walk October 24th (World Polio Day) through October 31. I purchased the Stomp Out Polio tennis shoes. The cost was $45 that includes $25 actual cost an $20 donation to Polio Plus which the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match 1 for 2 which means they will donate $40 for a total of $60 to Polio Plus.
One for the “stuff happens” list, the host’s system froze today leaving the slide for the Virtual Polio Walk up on the screen during our guest speaker’s program. Lots of advertising for Polio Plus.
