October, 23 2021 – I interviewed, for the third time, via Zoom to be the Rotary District 5340 Governor for 2024-25. I was given 3 minutes to introduce myself. I was then asked 2 questions from 8 selection committee members. After the questions I was given 2 minutes for closing remarks. This all occurred within 30 minutes.
I took my tie off and was relaxing downstairs when I was asked to rejoin the Zoom Call. At this time I was told I was elusive on one of my answers about public awareness and Rotaract. After an awkward moment of silence, they told me I was selected to be the District Governor in 2024-25. Yeah!
I got off the Zoom call and within a few minutes Past District Governor Steve Weitzen called to congratulate me on the selection. He then went on to say that Dianne Crawford, current District Governor Nominee, has asked to be delayed one year due to the health of her husband. That would mean that I would be District Governor in 2023-24. I accepted.
My journey just got more complicated.
