DG Visit to the Rotary Clubs of San Luis Rey and El Camino Real (Oceanside)

November 2, 2021 – I attended the joint meeting of the DG Visit to the Rotary Clubs of San Luis Rey and El Camino Real (Oceanside) at the El Camino Country Club.

The lunch was either a Cobb Salad or what I had, the hot meat loaf and mashed potatoes.

Mark Macarro, Captain of Luiseno Tribe welcomed the group and gave us some words in his native language.

Luiseño or Payómkawichum are an indigenous people of California who, at the time of the first contacts with the Spanish in the 16th century, inhabited the coastal area of southern California, ranging 50 miles (80 km) from the present-day southern part of Los Angeles County to the northern part of San Diego County.
