Afghanistan has reported 1 case of wild polio this year so far.
A single case was found in Malawi creating paralysis in a young girl imported from Pakistan.
GPEI is announcing a new 5 year initiative.
Need is $4.8 Billion
The strategy includes using a new novel polio vaccine.
Goal is to vaccinate 400,000,000 children annually for 5 years.
Not only will the new strategy eliminate polio worldwide but also improve the health infrastructure covering other disease and overall health.
