August 17, 2022 – At the Pacific Grill in Cardiff, I had lunch with representatives of Fisher House, Southern California.

We talked about the structure of District 5340 and my planned focus for 2023-24.
They have a need for capital funds to support upgrading one of the houses at Balboa and to start planning for a Fisher House at the VA San Diego Health System in La Jolla. They would like to be invited as speakers at some of the Rotary club in our District that have interest with the military. They are also looking for a prospective member for the Fisher House Southern California Board Directors.
I suggested the larger clubs such as San Diego, Coronado, Point Loma, Downtown Breakfast. I noted that a full court press should not occur during the current Rotary year as Chuck’s focus is on adolescent mental health. I told them I would be willing to fully support their cause during my tenure as DG.
