September 17, 2022 – We attended the Canine Companions DogFest fundraiser at Waterfront Park that started at 11 am. The Rotary Club of Del Mar was a sponsor ($1,000) and gave the booth to District 5340 to promote membership. District Governor Chuck Pretto attended. We had QR codes, a sign-up list and a trifold pamphlets. We saw about 30 people at our table. Event organizers used a passport to get attendees to visit the booths to entry a drawing for free gifts. When a person came to our booth for a stamp in their passport, I quickly asked, what do you know about Rotary? This worked well to get people talking.
