April 20, 2023 – New English Brewery was the site of the first of District 5340 Area Membership Socials, the first of which was for Area 1. The event started at 5:30 pm.

April 20, 2923 – The Rotary Club of Del Mar attended the Spring graduation of Workshops for Warriors at their location in Barrio Logan. Graduates from the welding and machining were recognize.

April 19, 2023 – At the Del Mar Hilton starting at 12 noon, the members of the 7 clubs of Area 4 met for a joint meeting. The 7 clubs are: Del Mar, Del Mar/Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, Encinitas, Encinitas Coastal, Solana Beach ECO and San Diego Downtown Evening.

April 18, 2023 – At our home in Sorrento Valley, we entertained the 2022-23 and 2023-24 Assistant Governors for a social and for District updates. April 17, 2023 – Via Zoom at 1 pm chaired by Marta Knight. DG Chuck reviewed the results of the D5340 European cruise to raise funds for The Rotary Foundation, the trip raised over $375,000. We reviewed the status of clubs qualified for District Grants and other subcommittee reports.

April 15, 2023 – At Idyllwild Pines Camp, we visited the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp conduct by District 5340 Youth Services. We were just visiting on Saturday; the camp ran from Friday March 31 to April 2. April 13, 2023- The club met at Pacifica at 12 noon. I had lunch with 2 visiting Rotarians from District 3202 and the Rotary Club of Tirupur, Dr. Sivagami & Dr. Sivasamy. We did a club flag exchange.

April 8, 2023 – A few club members met at 9 am to walk along the beach from the Del Mar Civic Center and back to meeting with others at the Darshan Bakery in Del Mar for coffee and a Danish. April 1, 2023 – At the Del Mar Civic Center starting at 8 am District 5340 held its annual Model United Nations. I gave an opening statement welcoming the delegates from high schools across the area and Mexico. I could have done a better selfie.
